Bryan Michael Cox

The Ambassador

By Tanya Du’Shay

Since his first recording session with a then unsigned Destiny’s Child, Bryan Michael Cox knew he would have a bright future as a music producer.  Three Grammy Awards and countless top 10 hits later, B. Cox’s discography reads like a who’s who list of R&B music.  He has produced hit songs for the likes of Mariah Carey, Usher, Jermaine Dupri, Jagged Edge, Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, Jessica Simpson, Janet Jackson, B2K, Fantasia, Destiny’s Child, Chris Brown, Bow Wow, Monica and the Queen of Hip Hop Mary J. Blige just to name a few.

Born in Miami, Florida and raised in Houston, Texas there’s a lot to be said about Bryan-Michael Cox’s accomplishments.  At the age of twenty-six (26), Cox has become the only Music Producer to break the Beatles’ record with The Most Consecutive #1 Hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.  With over 280 consecutive hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.  “Bryan’s first love has always been music” says his Mother, Pamela Cox who is also President of her son’s Black Baby, Inc. Enrolling into The Performing Arts High School in Houston t

is where Bryan took his talent seriously.  While attending school, Cox’s firs professional project was working with classmate and Grammy Award-Winner Beyonce’ on what would turn out to be a demo for the now Multi-Platinum Group Destiny’s Child.

After High School, Cox moved to Atlanta where he attended Clark/Atlanta University while majoring in Music.  While in college, he took an unpaid internship position at Noontime Studios.  Impressed with his work ethic, Noontime Productions signed him. Soon after signing to Noontime, Cox started placing records at a fast past on acts such as Jagged Edge & Aaliyah. Then he was introduced to Super Producer, Jermaine Dupri. Juggling school and music became even more of a challenge.  As soon as the two connected, Cox’s career took off at light speed.  Working on So So Def projects for the likes of Lil Bow Wow, Janet Jackson, Da Brat, Monica, and JD himself put Cox on the musical map at the age of 19. Currently, Cox is working with Whitney Houston, JOE, Mary J. Blige, the Isley Brothers & more.  An unprecedented venture deal with Warner Chappell Music is also in the works.  Such a deal will allow Cox to award up and coming writers with low-risk publishing deals.  Such a deal will allow Cox coming writers with low-risk publishing deals.
